AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) and Qualcomm Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, today announced the results of a collaboration that will begin with AMD Ryzen™ PRO 6000 series processors and the Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 Mobile Connectivity System for AMD Ryzen™ processor-based A computing platform optimized for the Qualcomm® FastConnect™ mobile connectivity system. With FastConnect 6900, business laptops powered by the latest AMD Ryzen processors will support Wi-Fi® 6 and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, including advanced wireless features supported by Windows 11.
In partnership with Microsoft, next-generation Windows 11 PCs such as Lenovo ThinkPad Z series and HP EliteBook 805 series can fully realize the potential of Windows 11 dual Wi-Fi clients through Qualcomm 4-way Dual Band Concurrent (DBS) technology. Multi-band Wi-Fi will deliver performance beyond traditional single-band connections, improving the video conferencing experience, reducing latency and enhancing connection stability. Utilizing the 6GHz band, next-generation laptop users can take advantage of the increase in bandwidth and speed without interference from other non-Wi-Fi 6E terminals.
For IT administrators, the Manageable Processor 1 in the Ryzen PRO 6000 system is now a solution that enables remote management of AMD commercial platforms. When paired with the FastConnect 6900, the solution enables wireless management and supports over 32 widely used, open standards-based (DASH) profiles. Together, the AMD Managed Processors and FastConnect 6900 will unleash and enhance systems management capabilities for IT departments.
